The Lotus Temple, located in New Delhi, India, is an Baha'i House of Worship that was inaugurated in December of 1986. The Lotus Temple is famous because of its lotus-like design It has grown to become an iconic tourist destination within the city. As with the other Baha'i Houses of Worship, the Lotus Temple is open to anyone, regardless of faith or other qualifications. The temple is comprised of 27 stone-clad "petals" arranged in clusters of three, which make nine sides. They have nine doors leading to the central hall, which has an elevation of just over 34 meters, and a capacity of 1,300 guests.
