Jagmandir -island of lake Pichola

A magnificent palace that appears like a floating structure within a lake is an amazing sight to see when one visits the enticing Lake Pichola. The palace is known by the name of Jagmandir (also known as Jag Island Palace is located on the southern shore of the lake. It is located on an island with the same name. It is also known to be Jag Island. It is also called "Lake Garden Palace", Jagmandir Isla is a magnificent structure that is visited by visitors in large number.

Jagmandir was built over the course of a few years over 3 Maharanas of the Sisodia Rajputs of the Mewar kingdom. The building of Jag Mandir was started in 1551 by Maharana Amar Singh and was succeeded by his son Maharana Karan Singh during the period from 1620 until 1628. The construction was complete through Maharana Jagat Singh I, during the 1628- 1652. It was then named in his honor as Jagat Mandir.
